Get ready to make some art and get some good, fresh air while you’re at it! En Plein Air!
Spend 3 hours painting and exploring your inner artist at the beautiful Port Townsend, WA beaches. We will meet at a pre-designated beach and walk with our supplies to a vista. This is the Northwest; if the weather is prohibitive for doing art outside we will reschedule (Rain date will be the Sunday following).
We will settle in, introduce ourselves, and start with some grounding and general artistic observations. Aliina will provide a few, relaxed tutorials on En Plein Air basics including which areas of the scene to start with, what to focus on, how to embrace your own style, and improv any other requests. We will break from painting to play with natural materials and mandalas. My gentle goal is not product based, but to send you home with a few small practice works, a larger scale seascape, but most importantly a sense of accomplishment, and peace.
You can purchase supplies from Aliina if you don’t have them already. This will set you up for the day! It includes student-grade paints, paper, and brush for $15. Please let her know what you need as soon as possible.
This workshop will be capped at 10 students. This size allows for in depth communication between the student and the teacher.
